Taking “Time Out” as a team, to just relax and have fun is so important for the well-being of our Volunteers who are constantly encouraging and uplifting patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
Reach for Recovery Durban held their ‘family fun day’ last week, and had an wonderful day together with family and friends, sharing a picnic under the trees, and having rides on model steam trains. Huge thanks to the Durban Society of Model Engineers, who hosted us.
Three trains ran that day, stopping at the station to pick up constant queues of adults and children alike, throughout the day. We named the trains, the “RFR Pink Express” for the day, taking our precious volunteers around the beautiful venue, through tunnels, and back to the station.
A wonderful day was had by all, fantastic for the children (big and small! The venue was amazing, the day was awesome, and we all went home refreshed, and ready to continue to ‘make a difference’, once more.
