The aim of the Reach for our Recovery programme is to supply practical and emotional support to breast cancer patients and their families.

We intend our support to enable you to make relevant personal decisions and to find the motivation for recovery from breast cancer with an optimal quality of life.

Our programme, with its carefully chosen, well trained volunteers, is approved by the medical profession and promoted by cancer societies world wide.

Reach for Recovery has:

25 groups throughout South Africa

~

253 trained volunteers representing all communities

~

3017 new patients visited in 2010 (including 2 males)

~

49% of patients are White, 26% are Blacks, 15% are Coloured & 10% are Asian.

Our volunteers will provide the following services:
Visitation
We will visit your in hospital or at home either before or after your operation or as often as is practical
Volunteers
Our volunteers are trained breast cancer survivors - we have been where you are now - we can help.
 Emotional and practical support
This is provided at the time of diagnosis and, if necessary, at any later stage.
