15th UICC Reach to Recovery International Breast Cancer Support ConferenceReach to Recovery – One Journey, Many People “The value of being able to meet women who have experienced breast cancer can’t be measured. Whether women come from a remote village in Africa, South America, European or Asian cities, our shared experiences connect us...knowing we are not alone makes the journey bearable.”
Leonie Young Reach to Recovery will connect women from around the world to focus on survivorship, capacity building, and peer support – with an innovative and vibrant program of case-studies, presentations and workshops. The conference includes indoor and outdoor activities that offer new challenges and exciting opportunities for personal growth.
World Class Accommodation: We are pleased to announce that Brisbane’s Riverside Hotel has recently signed on as an official conference hotel, offering rooms at AUS$170 per night and one bedroom apartments at AUS$240 per night. Reach to Recovery delegates will receive special rates at official conference hotels. Brisbane has one of the highest hotel occupancies of any city in Australia, so we recommend early-bird bookings. A shared room booking service is also available for delegates who would like to share accommodation and reduce costs.
Speaker Profile: Stella Kyriakides is a two-time breast cancer survivor and president of Europa Donna Cyprus. In the late 1990s, Stella established the movement for breast cancer support in Cyprus, collecting 20,000 signatures for presentation to the President and Parliament, advocating for breast cancer screening and establishing Pink Ribbon Day to raise community awareness.Stella has worked with women and communities from Bosnia, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, Canada, and the United States to promote awareness and equality of treatment for women with breast cancer. Stella was elected as a Member of the Republic of Cyprus Parliament in 2006 and is a past president of Europa Donna and 2001 Cyprus Woman of the Year. Conference delegates will have the opportunity to draw from Stella’s experiences as a survivor and passionate breast cancer activist.
