RFR Johannesburg held their Year End Volunteer Celebration at their new office on Saturday, 17 November 2018. It was well attended and a great opportunity for volunteers to spend some time getting to know each other (and new chairperson!) and share ideas.

On a  boiling hot day, they had representation from North, South, East and West Gauteng, reinforcing that they are all sisters in Reach for Recovery! In her speech, Shirley Gottschick, new Chairperson of RFR Johannesburg, reminded volunteers to never lose focus of the  WHY, even during challenging times.  She left all with a thought by Maya Angelou as a wish for 2019: “The question is not how to survive, but how to thrive with passion, compassion, humor and style.”

Suzette kindly sponsored an Avon hamper as lucky draw, which was won by one of their most loyal support meeting attendees, Mandy, who joined for the morning.  Beulah did some thank you’s with special token of appreciation to Cherry, who has been their rock of strength this year.

The group was thrilled that Stephné Jacobs, Chairperson of the Board,  could join too and leave them with positive wishes for the new year! The group is ready for a beautifully bright 2019! JHB 1 JHB 2 =JHB 3 JHB 4 JHB 5
