On 16th October 2016, Rennie Naidoo from Durban hosted A PINK GODDESS HIGH TEA to raise awareness on breast cancer. She dedicated the high tea in memory of her late gran, a breast cancer survivor and her dad whom she lost to an aggressive brain tumour GBS.
Rennie invited just 18 new friends to enjoy an ambiance for socializing, relaxing, energizing and simply enjoying “Me Time” celebrating our inner Goddess. She started the afternoon with lighting a huge pink candle in remembrance of her gran, her dad, all those that have gone before, the survivors, the care-givers and prayed for those still battling the illness.
Guest Speaker, Veronica Ramruch, a triple negative breast cancer survivor recounted her emotions and how she persevered through her treatment plan. She is a phenomonal woman of strength. The ladies engaged in an interactive discussion. Mumtaz Khan, an image consultant, advised the ladies on how to dress and feel confident in their own skin. The ladies were then treated to a Decadent High Tea. Thereafter Razia Khan, a beauty therapist, pampered the ladies with a hand massage.
It was an afternoon of incredible fun and splendour with the event drawing to a close with pledges. The ladies opened up their hearts and purses and gave unconditionally. An amount of R 8330.00 for Reach for Recovery’s Ditto Prosthesis Support Project was raised in just 2 hours. Each lady brought with them at least 1 item of old clothing which will be donated to the Khanya Hospice Charity Shop.
Thank you, Rennie Naidoo, and to each of your guests for your wonderful support to reach for Recovery!
