After 10 years , the Power of Pink Campaign which aims to raise funds for Reach for Recovery’s Ditto Prosthesis Support Project reached the R5 million mark! This campaign has provided a silicone prostheses to more than 6500 state patients post a mastectomy due to breast cancer.
On World Cancer Day, the Power of Pink Campaign handed over a cheque of R553,778 to Stephné Jacobs, Chairperson of Reach for Recovery South Africa. Stephné expressed her gratitude to the South African Mushroom Farmers Association and Pick n Pay for their continued support to the very unique Ditto Project. She was accompanied by RFR volunteers Rita Mphokwane, Winnifred Visser, Minah Sookane, Beulah Jankelowitz , Cherry Hart and Bessie Tselapedi who were interviewed by journalists to share their own journeys with breast cancer and their work as RFR volunteers. Edith Venter, a member of the Reach for Recovery Board of Management also attended the event.
