“Take control of your life, one mouthful at a time” was the topic of a talk given by GP and counsellor Dr Felicity Schoombie at a Pretoria branch general meeting held on 23 October 2014.
Explaining her holistic approach to health, Dr Schoombie gave some tips for a balanced lifestyle:
- Live in the present moment.
- Remember that you are the product of your thoughts.
- Don’t suppress your emotions – this can make you ill.
- Love yourself. There is no better way to do this than by choosing the best nutrients for your body.
She also outlined the metabolic balance programme which offers individual nutritional adjustment plans for problems such as weight gain, glucose and lipometabolic disorder, fatigue, hormone/menopausal conditions, osteoporosis, allergies, sleep disorders.
“Your food will be your medicine, and your medicine will be your food” is an excellent motto to live by concluded Dr Schoombie.
